An independent guide to UK betting sites
BritBet Index reviews and compares selected UK-facing sportsbook and betting products. We are a publisher — not a bookmaker, not an operator, and not owned by the brands we cover.
The short version: we don't take bets, hold deposits, set or settle odds, issue offers or run player accounts. Everything to do with your money and your bets happens on the operator's own site, under their terms.
What we actually do
We spend time with betting products the way a regular punter would — opening the app, building a bet, reading the small print — and then write it up honestly. The aim is a comparison you can trust: clear about what each product does well, candid about where it falls short, and consistent in how it judges one brand against another.
We deliberately keep the line-up small. A short, considered list is more useful than a directory of hundreds of names you have to wade through. Every product on the site has been through the same review checklist.
How the comparison works
Each product is assessed against a fixed set of criteria — market coverage, odds presentation, mobile usability, bet builders and accumulators, payments, terms transparency and safer-gambling visibility. Those criteria carry set weightings, and the editorial score falls out of that. The same yardstick is used for every brand, so the scores mean something when you compare them.

How affiliate funding works
The site is free to read, and it stays that way because it is affiliate-funded. Some of the links to operators are affiliate links. If you click one and go on to open an account, the operator may pay us a commission. That commission comes out of the operator's marketing budget — it does not change the odds, prices or offers you see, and it costs you nothing extra.
Crucially, commission is not a ranking factor. A brand cannot pay to score higher or to appear more favourably. If a product is weak in an area, we say so regardless of any commercial arrangement. The details are set out in our Affiliate Disclosure.
